On the edge... On the winds of agony We fall in space Face to face And all turns to a nebula of stars Hearts beating another song Close your eyes and devour The memories of a time long gone Is this what it means to be alone? Upon the sweltering verge of a coarse sandy road leading up to the blood red lacquered railings of a humped bridge lay two figures. One sat upright, a long piece of pampas grass resting between a pair of sun-cracked lips, sweat beads dripping down a shiny red tinged forehead onto dirtied palms. The other lay looking up, eyes peering up at the lonely orb glowering on a stage of all-encompassing blue. Itachi, the man fiddling with the pampas shoot, heaved a long sigh and heaved himself up to his full height. He was a short man, a little fat in places but mostly lean with a permanent stern countenance. He spat out the wilting grass and muttered, while giving his partner a stiff kick in the thigh, “Hey, Kiyoshi. Hey! Get up yer lazy degenerate!” Kiyoshi groaned and sat up, blinking as if he had slept for several days. He rubbed his watery eyes with a porcine fist. He was the taller of the pair, but between them he was a lover of good food and copious amounts of sake. “Ugh?” grunted
