Testing
Testing Carlie sat in the waiting area, trying to steady her nerves. She’d volunteered for this, after all, and they were paying her $1000 to be the subject of this test. But she still had no idea what it would be. All they said was that they needed a healthy, young woman who was willing to do unusual things. She signed up, but what did she sign up for. She filled out the paperwork, wondering why there was a statement about mishaps and discombobulation, not knowing what that meant. What was she here for? She was told to wear something that bared her waist, so she did, but she still had no idea what for. As she was called back, a few minutes later, she saw a few gadgets she recognized from hospitals and doctor’s offices, including what looked like an EEG machine. That’s when one of the scientists, a Dr. Benwae, sat her down and explained what was going on. “You see, Carlie, we’ve heard reports of certain…interactions when it comes to magic being performed on young women. Fate: The Book of Humiliation Target Gilgamesh
Shirou wasn’t much of a scholar when it came to magic. He didn’t tend to study but when he went to clean up the shed where he originally summoned his Saber, he found a really old book with mysterious writing that Shirou didn’t really understand. His first instinct was to put the book back down in the box that he found it in but something was compelling him to keep hold of said book. Instead of putting the book away, he carried it back into his room where he thoroughly explored it. It still didn’t make much sense to him but he didn’t want to put it down. For some reason he carried the book everywhere. A few days after finding the book, he was walking down the street clearly lost in thought when he ran into someone he rather not have seen at all. It almost seemed like he hit solid muscle and fell to the ground, knocking the book across the ground. “Watch where you are going, mongrel,” the cocky voice of Gilgamesh reached down to the distracted redhead. Shirou’s eyes trailed up to the

Shady Maples
I don’t know what urge sent me there that evening, but I’m glad I went. They were tearing down Shady Maple Apartments - my first apartment. I pulled over to the side just to see the old building one more time and reminisce. The property was sealed off by a chain-link fence where construction - or rather demolition - workers, along with their bulldozers and backhoes, were all about the building complex. Already the car port was collapsed and the parking lot was being torn apart. Dust drifted into the air along with sounds of the ongoing demolition. It was a surreal sight and I found myself wondering what had become of the tenants. Like old Mr. Furgas... that man would talk to you for hours if you didn’t get away in time. Or the lady with all the cats that lived right below me. I had moved out years ago when I got a better job, and now I lived in a townhouse. But I found myself thinking back to the days when I was still struggling to make ends meet and of all the memories I had made.

I suppose this has a poetic feel to it, but I wrote this back in January or was it December? Can't remember. Anyway this was in essence a stream of conscious thought regardless of style or whether it be prose or poetry.

Dark, disturbing, thought-provoking. I think this'll need a second read some time.
